STRAWBERRY CLOVER

Trifolium fragiferum

DESCRIPTION

  • Prostrate plant, without hairs and with a profound root system.
  • Trifoliate leaves with lance-shaped leaflets.
  • Flowers:Small white to violet flowers.
  • Thousand seed weight (TSW): 1.15 to 1.30 g

FEATURES

  • Adapted to soggy, poorly drained, saline soils and a wide pH range.
  • Survives in extreme temperature conditions.
  • Establishes slowly and with little growth in winter, although it has a very high persistence when established.

SOWING 

  • Sowing Period: 
    • Fall: September to November.
    • Spring: March to May
  • Sowing Rate:
    • Pure: 2 – 5 kg/ha.
    • Mixture: 0.25– 1 kg/ha, depending on the species.
  • Compatible species: grasses and legumes for permanent dry meadows and vegetable covers. Multiple uses, including gardening.  
  • Inoculant: Group B

VARIETIES

  • PALESTINE: larger leaves and more erect plants.
  • O ́CONNORS: small leaves, more prostrate and used for lawns with legumes.
