The rapeseed is an oil-rich seed that belongs to the family of brassicaceae. It constitutes 70% of oil-rich seeds at a European level, and in Spain it has quadrupled its production in the past few years. It’s a crop rising in interest due to its high profitability, its low production cost (since it needs very few phytosanitary products) and its low demand during cultivation.
It is perfectly adapted to our edaphic and climatic conditions especially indoor areas. The rapeseed has a taproot that improves the structure of the ground, therefore contributes greatly during crop rotations. The same root, allows it to obtain water and make the most out of the provided nutrients, where other crops can’t reach.
